Our Promise

We correct factual errors promptly and transparently. When we update content for clarity or new information, we make that clear to readers.

How to Request a Correction

Email angelo@sunlightmedia.org or use our contact page. Include:

  • The page URL
  • The exact passage needing review
  • The correction you propose and (if available) a source

We aim to acknowledge requests within 2 business days.

How We Classify Changes

  • Correction: Fixes a factual error that could mislead readers. We edit the content, add a brief note (e.g., “Correction: … [date]”), and, when relevant, explain what changed.
  • Update: Adds new, relevant information or expands guidance (e.g., new standards, features). We add an “Updated on [date]” note near the top or bottom of the page.
  • Minor Edit: Typo/grammar/formatting with no effect on meaning; no note required.

Versioning & Transparency

For substantial changes, we summarize what changed and why. Where appropriate (e.g., methodology posts), we may retain a short change log.

Social & Syndication

If we materially correct a post previously shared on social/email, we may post an update or note to clarify the correction.
