Developed by Heart Machine, the gameplay has been compared to such titles as Zelda and Diablo. Hyper Light Drifter is available for a wide variety of platforms, including Windows, OS X, PlayStation 4 and more.

No Man’s Sky

No Man’s Sky is a hugely anticipated action-adventure survival game, scheduled for released in early August. The gameplay has multiple layers involving exploration, survival, combat and trading, all in a gorgeously-detailed 3D environment. No Man’s Sky will be available for Windows and PlayStation 4.

Final Fantasy XV

Another much-anticipated release this year is the latest edition in the Final Fantasy series, Final Fantasy XV. Set for release in late September, this latest installment will feature all of the gameplay hallmarks that fans of the RPG genre have come to expect from developer Square Enix. It will also be the first game in the series created for the PlayStation 4 platform.

Lastly, it would be hard to talk about video games in 2016 without mentioning Pokémon Go. The gameplay involves an augmented reality experience, in which players search for Pokémon in real-life places.
